Hey, I’m Joanne Rose. I’m the founder of Sweetest Pit Bull Productions and Vegan Vision Productions.
I write original scripts for comedy and drama with strong female characters. Why? Because we need to see more women in film and TV.
We all need inspiration
I love to write for women 35 + I create storylines and characters that overcome adversity by never giving up.
Who is Vegan Vision Productions?
The first production company that I founded in 2008 in Los Angeles, which focuses on sitcoms and healthy but funny reality TV shows.
Who is Sweetest Pit Bull Productions?
The second company I founded in 2015 and focuses on feel-good comedy-dramas for women.
How It All Began
While I was a struggling actor in LA, I decided to write, act and produce my own comedy projects. The book, Success Principles by Jack Canfield changed my life. After doing Your Life Purpose Exercise, I connected the dots. I was always inspiring people around me and making others laugh with my wacky sense of humor so I combined the two. I formed my own production company so I could write great roles for women.
How I came up with the name Vegan Vision Productions
The name just popped in to my head one morning while I was lying in bed. It was just one of those aha moments. I’ve also been a vegan since 1994.
How I came up with the name Sweetest Pit Bull Productions
It’s the way I describe myself and how I go about my biz. I’m a go-getter. When it comes to a goal, I lock jaws and get on it while remaining my true friendly self. But I swear I don’t drool or snore.
Funny Web Series
The very first show I created, wrote, produced and performed in was the multi-award winning sketch comedy series, Vegan 101. The series launched online in 2009 and ran for 3 Seasons, ending in 2012. The show featured highly exaggerated stories about vegans from all walks of life. Season 2 guest-starred Oscar-nominated actor, Eric Roberts with music by Keaton Simons.
Comedy Central Show
Five years after Vegan 101 launched, the series was licensed to Comedy Central on TV in India.
My original TV pilot script, Life of Groupies won an award as an official finalist at the 2014 Hollywood Screenplay Contest and 2014 Beverly Hills Screenplay Contest.
I have just finished writing my very first film which is a romantic comedy called You Had Me At Aloha and will star Antonio Sabato Jr.
