I’m Joanne Rose, the founder and CEO of Sweetest Pit Bull Productions and Vegan Vision Productions.
I am a multi-award winning screenwriter from Melbourne, Australia and a proud US citizen. I live between Los Angeles and Maui. I’ve been a screenwriter for over 10 years and have featured in magazines and blogs such as Creative Screenwriting, Inside Film and many more. I’ve also made appearances on the red carpet, film festivals, radio and as a guest speaker.
Vegan Vision Productions was the first production company I started in 2008 in Los Angeles, which focuses on TV and web series. I’ve also been a vegan since 1994. I created my second company Sweetest Pit Bull Productions in 2015 which focuses on female-driven movies.
I formed my own production company so I could write and produce inspiring films with great roles for women.
The very first show I wrote, produced and performed in was the multi-award winning sketch comedy series, Vegan 101. The series launched online in 2009 and ran for 3 Seasons, ending in 2012. Season 2 guest-starred Oscar-nominated actor, Eric Roberts with music by Keaton Simons.
Five years after Vegan 101 launched on the web, the series was licensed to Comedy Central on TV in India.
My original TV pilot script, Life of Groupies won an award as an official finalist at the 2014 Hollywood Screenplay Contest and 2014 Beverly Hills Screenplay Contest.
I am currently in pre-production on my romantic-comedy feature called You Had Me At Aloha™. The script was a 2017 Screenplay Award-Winner at the Honolulu Film Awards.
